A serious lack of Jap car activity in Scotland saw the beginning of Clan Japan in September 2007. Driven by frustration, 3 like-minded friends decided to gauge interest in a “non car specific” club for Scottish owners by setting up a Clan Japan bebo group page. Due to demand a few weeks later the Clan Japan forum went live and quickly our membership grew into the hundreds.

A couple of months on and we were joined by another friend and Jap car enthusiast Squeak (of Squeak Design), with his web design experience he was a welcome addition to the admin team. Then along came Scoob, a regular to the Jap car scene and an experienced club area rep. Scoob has proven invaluable to the club, increasing membership through promotion, events organising and as super-moderator of the Clan Japan forum.

Clan Japan’s intention is to work in conjunction with “car specific” owners clubs, which we believe to be a necessary vital source of information and assistance for any Jap car owner.
